Neem-based botanical pesticide (Azadirachtin)

Botanical pesticide · Emulsifiable concentrate
Neemacin 1,500 PPM is a neem-based botanical pesticide containing a minimum of 0.15% w/w Azadirachtin. It is used as a foliar spray to manage insect pests in an eco-friendly way.

Mode of action
Azadirachtin, the active ingredient of Neemacin, is extracted from neem. It does not act on pests in just one way - it works on several fronts at the same time:
Keeps pests away
The natural bitter compounds of neem make sprayed leaves unattractive, so many insects avoid settling on the crop in the first place.
Stops feeding
Insects that bite or suck a treated leaf lose their urge to feed within a short time. Crop damage slows down quickly, and the weakened pests starve.
Disrupts growth and moulting
Azadirachtin interferes with the hormones that control an insect's development. Young larvae and nymphs cannot shed their skin properly, so they fail to grow into adults and die.
Reduces egg-laying
Female insects avoid laying eggs on treated plants, and fewer of the eggs that are laid go on to hatch. This keeps the next generation of pests small.
What to expect: Neemacin works step by step rather than as an instant knock-down. You may still see insects on the crop for a few days after spraying, but they eat far less and their numbers fall over the following generations. That is why early spraying, at the first sign of pests, gives the best results.
Directions for use
Application
- Apply as a foliar spray directly on the target pests.
- Spray in the early morning or late evening, when crop leaves can be wetted thoroughly.
Timing
- Start at the first sight of insects or pests on the crop.
- Spray during the immature stages of the pest for the best results.
- Ensure complete coverage of the crop canopy.
Dosage
Use 2 ml per litre of water under normal conditions. Adjust the dose to pest load, crop canopy and local spray practice.
Preparation
Add Neemacin to water and stir well until it forms a uniform white emulsion. Do not store the spray mixture - prepare a fresh solution for each application.
Frequency
Repeat the foliar spray after 7 days.
Compatibility
Compatible with most agricultural crop protection chemicals and bio-control agents.
Heavy infestation: Under heavy pest pressure, chemical insecticides may also be needed to protect yield. Neemacin fits well into such integrated pest management (IPM) programmes.
Storage & packing
Shelf life: One year from the date of manufacture. Store in a cool, dry place.
Pack sizes: 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 L, 5 L and 20 L.
